1-Star Review of Icon Construction & Development LLC

Update: Since posting my original review, Icon reached out to discuss my concerns. I appreciated the opportunity to speak with them and hoped we could find a path toward a reasonable resolution. Unfortunately, the conversation reinforced my concerns. Rather than discussing possible solutions, the focus was on explaining why the issues weren't covered under the one-year warranty and why I shouldn't have posted my review. I understand that warranties have limits, and I wasn't asking for lifetime maintenance. My concern is that an approximately $1 million home should not have overflowing gutters after three years or significant cedar siding warping after only eight years without the builder showing some willingness to help. What disappointed me most was being made to feel like my expectations were unreasonable rather than having my concerns acknowledged. At one point, I was told that because the warranty had expired, this was simply "how it works." The phone call was fully recorded for clarity. Everyone is free to draw their own conclusions, but I believe a builder's commitment to quality doesn't end the day the warranty expires. Customer service is measured by how a company responds when problems arise, not just when everything goes according to plan. Original post: -- We purchased a home from Icon Construction for approximately $1 million, and I expected a home at this price point to be built with quality materials and quality workmanship. Unfortunately, our experience has been very disappointing. About three years after the home was built, I noticed that the gutters were holding standing water instead of draining properly. I reported the issue to Icon, and someone came out to inspect it, but I was ultimately told they wouldn't be doing anything to address the problem. Now, with the home only eight years old, we're dealing with much more significant issues. The cedar siding is warping across much of the front of the house, and I've also discovered at least one area where the cement siding is cracking. These are not issues I would expect on a home of this age, especially one that cost around $1 million. What has been most frustrating is not just the problems themselves, but the lack of willingness to stand behind the quality of the home. When I reported the gutter issue early on, I expected Icon to take ownership and help resolve it. Instead, I was left feeling that once the warranty period was over, customer concerns no longer mattered. I'm posting this review in the hope that it reaches the owner or someone in leadership who truly cares about the company's reputation. I would much rather update this review with a positive resolution than continue feeling like legitimate quality concerns are being ignored.

We just bought a new home in Molalla. The company was great to work with. When we did our walk through they made sure all the things were fixed so we could move in right away. My home is gorgeous and has the most beautifully thought out details.
