Feedback for Eye Care Physicians and Surgeons

FEEDBACK FOR EYE CARE PHYSICIANS AND SURGEONS FROM HUGH CUNNINGHAM I am providing feedback on my Cataract Surgeries. It has been sometime since my last post operation appointment on October 3rd. I have been ill but I also wanted to leave enough time to evaluate post surgical status. The staff is very competent and Doctor Gurdian provided sufficient information and answered all my questions. I previously had Strabismus surgery on my left eye. My cataract surgeries employed the use of the premium lens. At the same time a left eye Astigmatism was corrected. I realize everyone eyes are different. The Doctors can only work with what they have to work with. Here are my specific post surgeries comments. Doctor Gurdian was made aware that I have balance issues. I was told balance is a complex issue and could not be materially corrected by Cataract Surgery. I wished that that light that I require to see would have decreased. I am ok to drive without glasses however very clean glasses do improve the situation. Very clean glasses require frequent maintenance. My close up vision is more problematic. Due to Strabismus surgery the depth and width of the vision window has been reduced. Doctor Gurdian attested the Strabismus and his Cataract surgeries were in alignment. Without very clean glasses the font in a Pocket Dictionary cannot be read. Anything smaller requires a magnifying glass. The most troubling issue involves the transition from distance to near vision. Picture looking at a Supermarket isle identifier at the top of the isle, I see nothing readable in the near lens. I am unable to adjust, from far to near in time to avoid short boxes (planters). Measuring an elevation change for my next step is very inaccurate. I am not wearing glasses outside of the house or when reading something in the public. These are my thoughts. Please contact me if you have comments. Hugh Cunningham Documents/eye doctor/Eye Care Cataract Surgery feedback 011620.doc

Good Care; Bad Use of Time

My eye exam and testing was handled professionally but it took two hours. Don’t plan any activities to follow your appointment.
