Money-Driven Company

We had a very frustrating experience with Draper Realty, especially during move-out. We moved out more than two months before our lease ended, but still paid rent through the end of the lease. Before the move-out inspection, we continued maintaining the property, including mowing the lawn and trimming trees/branches. Draper scheduled the inspection for May 27, before our lease ended on May 31, and we were told in the tenant portal that this was to give us a few days to correct any issues found. However, we were not notified of any issues after the inspection, and Draper did not share the inspection report or charges with us until July 3. Draper deducted $566.50 from our deposit, including $287.50 for landscaping, even though the inspection report listed the lawn as “Good, Clean.” They also charged us $192 for blinds after two old, fragile blind slats broke during the lease, even though we had previously reported the issue. During our tenancy, we also experienced poor communication about maintenance, including a maintenance person entering the house without advance notice to us. Based on our experience, I strongly recommend future tenants document everything, take detailed photos, keep communication in writing, and carefully review all move-out charges.
