What happens during an arraignment hearing?

Arraignments are usually the very first appearance you have in court after you have been arrested or cited to appear by law enforcement.

At the arraignment, you are informed of the charges against you, your rights, and possible punishments if convicted, and you usually enter a plea of not guilty, if the court does not automatically enter it as the default plea right then.
