A Quilter’s Paradise

Quilts bring a sense of warmth and nostalgia. Made with love and care, I bet you have one from an Aunt or Grandmother in your home that makes you feel warm and cozy. With a unique blend of inclusivity, affordability, and passion for the craft, The Cotton Patch has become a favorite destination for quilters of all skill levels. It’s not just a store, it’s a quilting community where creativity flourishes and friendships blossom. With an atmosphere that is welcoming and genuine, everyone that walks through the doors will feel wrapped in comfort.

Quilters Adventure Too

Have you ever heard of a “Shop Hop?” The Cotton Patch participates in the Underground Shop Hop every Spring and Fall along with eight other shops. At each location a Hopper/Customer picks up a FREE kit for a block, gets their passport stamped, and at the end turns in their passport to a drawing for gift certificates from the participating shops.

There are also two awards given for the best quilt using the block kits that they pick up:  Passengers Choice and Conductors Choice. In the Spring, Hopper’s get a larger block – 12 1/2″ instead of 9″. And in the Fall, a food drive is added to the mix. Whether it’s crafting a Mellow Yellow block in Spring or participating in a food drive for the Fall hop, The Cotton Patch is a hopping place to be!

Embracing Inclusivity: A Deaf-Friendly Space

Inclusivity is more than just a buzzword at this compassionate shop – it’s a core value that shapes the store’s identity. With a dedicated deaf interpreter facilitating classes on second Saturdays, and one recent class was made up of all deaf quilters! The owner’s efforts to create an inclusive space have borne fruit, showing their commitment to providing a place of belonging for all.

Generations of Quilters Unite

The Cotton Patch isn’t just a place to buy fabric and notions, it’s a multi-generational gathering spot where families come together to share their love for quilting. From grandmothers passing down their wisdom to grandchildren discovering the joy of sewing, The Cotton Patch is a testament to the enduring appeal of quilting across generations.

Helping Quilters Overcome Hurdles

For many quilters, completing a project can be daunting, especially when faced with the high cost of backing fabric. Recognizing this challenge, The Cotton Patch instituted Backing Day – a monthly event where customers receive a 25% discount on backing fabric. This initiative not only helps quilters overcome financial barriers but is a practical way for the store to give back to its customers and provide a place of encouragement.
