Nebraska Brewing Company opened on November 17th, 2007 and are coming up on their Golden Birthday this year. Owned and operated by Paul and Kim Kavulak, the brewery is located in La Vista at 6950 S. 108th St.

Why did you decide to open a brewery in Omaha?
Our owner and founder Paul started homebrewing in 1992 and as his passion grew, he decided to take a leap and leave the corporate world to a world filled with beer. He chose the Omaha area as it was his home and because his grandparents Harold and Peggy Lankton had owned the Cardinal Bar in Omaha while he was growing up.

What makes your brewery different from others in the Omaha area?
Nebraska Brewing Company sets itself aside as Nebraska’s most award winning brewery, but the awards aren’t necessarily what make it special. A welcoming environment for all, the taproom has TVs galore for everyone’s viewing pleasure, 10 pinball / arcade machines, a pool table, and a beautiful patio to enjoy the weather on!

Do you have any special events (either occurring on a regular basis or one-time, seasonally, etc.)?
Starting on November 10th we are beginning our indoor winter farmers markets! These events showcase locally owned businesses and crafters from 11-3 pm every other Sunday until the end of April!
What is your personal favorite beer that you brew and why?
Cardinal Pale Ale! We refer to Cardinal as “the beer that built the brewery”. It’s our flagship beer and has been with us every day since 2007 and will never go away. It’s an iconic beer in Nebraska and is named after the Cardinal Bar that Paul grew up in / around.

What are you future goals/plans for your brewery?
Our goal is simple. Keep producing high quality beers and making friends along the way as more people want to come to our taproom and hang out with us while enjoying a cold pint.
