Chirs and Dana Nipper

The Origin of a Local Legacy

Dana Nipper shared the inspiring journey of how Nipper’s Embroidery came to be, a story rooted in family history and entrepreneurial spirit. “This has been my husband’s business for almost 21 years,” Dana explained, detailing how it started as an offshoot of Chris’s family’s business and blossomed into a vital part of the local economy and community.

A Passion for Quality and Community

Chris’s dedication to quality and Dana’s background in marketing and print management have combined to create a dynamic duo. Dana recalls the early days of working with Chris, “I wound up working with him after we got married. We invested in some new equipment that I was interested in… I chose to be here because it’s fun, and I love being here. I love meeting with people. I actually love working with my husband”.

“Work with your husband and make tee shirts all day,” they said. “It’ll be fun,” they said. No one said “Caution. Flying Ink!”

Crafting Connections Through Embroidery

Nipper’s Embroidery does more than just stitch fabric; they stitch people together, bringing life to customers’ ideas and fostering connections within the community. Dana shared her appreciation for the business’s impact: “It’s very cool. Being able to have people come in…and listen to their ideas and have their designs come to life, whether it’s embroidery or printing, is what we both like the most about doing this”.

Celebrating Milestones and Embracing the Future

Reflecting on the company’s journey, Dana highlighted the significance of reaching a 20-year milestone and the role of their partnership in the business’s continued success. “That was huge for him,” she said about Chris. “And then more recently, since we’ve been working together as partners… it’s investing in new equipment and him allowing some of the workload to be taken off of him”.

A Commitment to Giving Back

Dana’s strategic insights into marketing and community engagement have notably enhanced Nipper’s Embroidery’s outreach efforts. A heartwarming example of their commitment to nurturing young entrepreneurs is their initiative to support local youth in their business endeavors. “About a week ago, we had a young man on Facebook, who was in middle school say, ‘Hey, I’m starting my own business. I would love to start helping people around town do lawn care and stuff.’ And I said, ‘Oh my gosh, that’s the coolest thing,'” Dana recounted. Moved by his ambition, Dana offered to help the young entrepreneur, named Carter, by providing T-shirts for him and his team to wear while doing lawn care, thus promoting his business. This gesture not only aids in visibility but also instills a sense of professionalism and pride in their work. Dana further revealed plans to extend this support to two kids a month, offering them design assistance and a couple of shirts at no cost. This initiative showcases Nipper’s Embroidery’s dedication to fostering a supportive environment where the community’s youth feel encouraged to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams

Nipper’s Embroidery is more than a business; it’s a lifeline to the Mt. Juliet community, offering not only high-quality embroidery services but also a model of how businesses can grow alongside their communities. Through Chris’s vision and Dana’s marketing acumen, they’ve created a space where craftsmanship meets community, proving that success is not just measured in profits, but in the positive impact one can have on the lives around them.
