In a heartwarming show of community support, Connect2First and KSSN 96 are teaming up this Wednesday, November 6, for Operation VetsGiving, an initiative dedicated to collecting Thanksgiving meal essentials for local veterans. This event aims to support the Feed the Vets Food Pantry, an organization committed to ensuring veterans and their families have the food and resources they need, especially during the holiday season. The event is set to take place at Connect2First’s Cabot location, 805 W Main Street, Suite C, from 10:00 a.m. to noon.
As Thanksgiving approaches, the need to support veterans facing food insecurity is ever-present. Many veterans struggle to make ends meet, and this event provides an opportunity for the local community to come together and give back to those who have served the nation. Operation VetsGiving invites locals to donate items such as turkeys, side dishes, canned goods, toiletries, and monetary contributions to help assemble complete Thanksgiving meals for veterans in need.
KSSN 96, a popular Arkansas radio station, will be on-site at Connect2First’s location during the collection hours, adding energy to the event with live broadcasts and encouraging more people to stop by and contribute. Those unable to attend in person can still support the cause through digital contributions.
The organizers are specifically looking for traditional Thanksgiving items, which include:
- Turkeys and other main dishes,
- Side items like stuffing, canned vegetables, and gravy,
- Toiletries and personal care items,
- Monetary donations, which can help the pantry acquire necessary supplies.
These contributions will go directly toward assembling meal packages for veterans and their families, helping them celebrate Thanksgiving without the stress of food insecurity. The Feed the Vets Food Pantry has been a pillar of support for veterans in the region, and this event amplifies their impact by rallying the community to support this cause.
To encourage community participation, KSSN 96 is offering attendees a chance to win Parker McCollum concert tickets as part of the event’s excitement. Each donation brings the community closer to supporting Arkansas veterans and shows appreciation for their service. The broadcast will be live, adding to the atmosphere and making it a memorable experience for everyone involved.
While Thanksgiving is traditionally a time to reflect on gratitude, Operation VetsGiving allows locals to turn their gratitude into action by helping veterans in need. The event underscores the importance of supporting those who have served in the armed forces and reminds us that even small contributions can make a significant difference in the lives of others.
