This October, White County and the City of Searcy are teaming up to host a fall county-wide clean-up event. From Thursday, October 17th to Saturday, October 19th, residents of White County can drop off various items at the White County Fairgrounds in Searcy. This is a great opportunity to tidy up your home and yard while responsibly disposing of bulky items and debris. The clean-up event is for White County residents only, and attendees must be prepared to show proof of residency. Here are the event details and important guidelines for what will and will not be accepted.

Items Accepted
• Regular Size Tires: Up to 10 per household, must be off the rim, and proof of White County residency is required for tire disposal.
• White Goods: Including appliances like refrigerators, washing machines, and other large household items.
• Scrap Metal: Clean out your garage or yard and bring in old metal for recycling.
• Furniture: Have an old couch or chair that needs to go? This is your chance to get rid of bulky furniture.
• Bagged Trash (Roadside Litter): All general bagged trash will be accepted.
• Dried Paint: Ensure your paint cans are dried out before bringing them to the drop-off site.
Items Not Accepted
• Concrete/Masonry: Any form of concrete, bricks, or similar materials will not be accepted.
• Chemicals: Hazardous chemicals are not allowed for drop-off.
• Batteries: Car and household batteries will need to be disposed of elsewhere.
• Electronics: Computers, TVs, and other electronics are excluded from this clean-up event.
• Liquid Paint: Only paint in a dried form is accepted.
• Tractor Tires: Large agricultural tires are not accepted.
This is a fantastic way to responsibly dispose of large and bulky items that are difficult to throw out in regular trash collections. Keep in mind that this event is strictly for White County residents, and anyone caught dumping after hours may face a $1,000 fine.
