Dog Training Elite Omaha, which opened on April 1st, 2022, trains all breeds, sizes, and ages of dogs for solid obedience, PTSD service, personal autism, mobility, and to be therapy dogs. The business, which was started by Bob Wiegand, has continued to grow each year and 2024 is turning out to be their best year so far.
Below is an interview with owner Bob Wiegand:
What do you think sets you apart from other businesses in the same industry?
One factor is we are in-home training service. We also work with a lot of aggressive dogs, which is something a lot of our competitors do not take on.
What do you and your team like about living and working in Omaha?
I have lived here my entire life, and plan on staying (well, maybe I’d like to go some place warm for the winters!)
What are your plans for the next five years of your business? 10? 25?
I bought this business to retire with, meaning I can take a step back and reap the rewards while having some good people in place to do the day to day while I relax.
If you could choose one thing you enjoy most about your business, what would it be?
There is not just one thing. I love dogs and truly enjoy training them all! I get such satisfaction seeing the results with the dogs and their handlers.
How does your team give back to the community?
We participate in various events and have spoken at Boys & Girls Scouts meetings and other types of events so we can explain and talk about service dogs and what they do.
Does your business have a mission statement?
Where Education Meets Excellence. Elite Methods. Elite Results.
If you could give other business owners a piece of advice, what would it be?
Owning your business is not easy and sometimes you may not be able to do outside of work things because work needs to be done to be successful.
