Imagine walking out of your office and straight into the gym with no commute and no excuses. This is the vision Cody and Nick Yurk had when they started CoWorkout, a coworking gym located in downtown Omaha. With the goal of making fitness easy and accessible for busy professionals, the owners combined strength training, cardio, and even rooftop yoga into a gym that works with your schedule. It’s where work meets workout and the team at CoWorkout loves helping their members crush their goals.
Below is an interview with Cody Yurk, co-founder of CoWorkout.
How long have you been in business, and what was the owner’s motivation for starting the business?
We launched in 2024 with a big goal: to solve the age-old problem of fitting workouts into packed workdays. As someone working out of a coworking space, I noticed how much time I wasted commuting to the gym, so we thought, why not bring the gym right to where people work? Fitness shouldn’t be a hassle, and CoWorkout was born to make it simple and part of your daily routine.
How has the business grown?
Even though we’re just getting started, the growth has been amazing. We’ve built a great community in Omaha, and in 2025, we’re expanding to Des Moines and Kansas City. It’s been exciting to see people embrace the concept of coworking and working out all in one place, and we’re just getting warmed up!
What do you think sets you apart from other businesses in the same industry?
It’s all about convenience, community, and quality. We’re not just a gym—we’re right in your workspace, so there’s no extra travel. Our members love the sense of community, from group classes to rooftop yoga sessions with city views. Plus, we don’t do contracts—you’re in control of your membership. Add in premium equipment and expert trainers, and it’s a game-changer.
What do you and your team like about living and working in Omaha?
Omaha is awesome! The downtown area has such a cool vibe, and the Old Market district is full of life. Our team loves the mix of big-city energy and that close-knit community feel. Plus, Omaha’s a city that values innovation and entrepreneurship, which makes it the perfect place for CoWorkout.
What are your plans for the next five years of your business? 10? 25?
In the next five years, we’re aiming to expand to coworking spaces in more cities like Des Moines and Kansas City. By year 10, we plan to be the top coworking gym brand in the U.S. And in 25 years? We’d love to take this concept global, creating a worldwide network of coworking professionals prioritizing their health and productivity.
If you could choose one thing you enjoy most about your business, what would it be?
It’s the people, hands down. Seeing our members support each other, hit their fitness goals, and build connections is incredibly rewarding. That sense of community is what makes CoWorkout so special.
How does your team give back to the community?
We love hosting wellness events and fitness challenges to bring people together and raise awareness for local causes. We also partner with Omaha businesses to promote health and support the community in fun, engaging ways.
Does your business have a mission statement?
Absolutely! Our mission is to deliver accessible, convenient, and community-driven fitness solutions within coworking spaces, helping busy professionals stay healthy without compromising their productivity.
If you could give other business owners a piece of advice, what would it be?
Keep it simple and solve a real problem. People value convenience, so meet them where they are. Also, build a strong community around your brand—it’s the key to long-term success.
