Thomson candidly shares how managing the technology behind the scenes was a hurdle she had to overcome. “The first box goes out in September, and while there have been hurdles, I’m thrilled to be able to share this with people all over the country,” she notes. Despite these challenges, Thomson’s passion for tea and her determination to spread joy through her boxes kept her focused on her goal.
For Thomson, the idea of the subscription box was born out of a desire to reach people who don’t have easy access to a tea store. “I’ve had so many customers from out of state tell me how much they love the shop and wish they had something like it near them. This subscription box is my way of serving those people, no matter where they are,” she explains. The subscription box allows Thomson to bring the unique tea experience she offers at Sage Tea & Treats to customers across the country, providing them with a curated selection that they can enjoy from the comfort of their own homes.
Thomson’s vision for the future is ambitious. She hopes to have her boxes shipped to every state in the U.S., spreading the love of tea far and wide. “My goal is to have about 300 boxes going out by the first of the year,” she shares. “It’s a wonderful way to introduce people to new teas and make tea time even more special. Whether it’s a gift or a personal treat, each box is designed to bring joy and comfort.”

Even local customers find value in the convenience and variety it offers. “Local customers can pick up their boxes in-store, saving time and effort while still enjoying a curated selection of teas each month. It’s also a great gift option,” Thomson explains. One local customer, for instance, has subscribed to receive two boxes each month—one for herself and another to gift to a friend or family member. “She told me it takes the stress out of finding a thoughtful gift every month, and she loves knowing that the recipient will enjoy something special.”
