Police Had To Be Called To Return My Dog

We have been customers of Pets Unleashed here in Dallas since they first opened. We have 3 dogs that w… Keep Readingere groomed there regularly for the last 2 years. This last Wednesday the worst thing I could ever imagine happened to us at Pets Unleashed. My mini-Dalmatians had been in last week to be groomed but today was Bears turn to be groomed. I dropped Bear off on my way to a meeting and I felt Angie was on her high horse when I went in to drop Bear off, BUT when she refused to give me my dog back is where I draw the line!! In a nutshell, I dropped Bear off (and she was trying to tell me she didn’t have his rabies certificate and my Vets phone was busy so she couldn’t get in touch with them). So I called Dr Rivers, got thru and they confirmed Bears rabies were good until 2024 which I told her. Anyway, I handed my phone to Angie so Dr Rivers office could tell her Bears rabies were up to date. Ok, problem solved, I thought ….. I went to my meeting and while I was In there Angie tried to call me, as the groomer found a cut on Bears foot. Angie tried calling me and no answer, so she called my husband (at work in Salem) and told him she found a cut on Bears paw, and she just wanted to be sure we knew about it. My husband confirmed with Angie that we knew about it and was treating it with Epsom salts. & antibiotic cream. My husband said Angie said ok, and acted like no big deal. But, when I got out of my meeting, I checked my phone. Boy was I shocked to have some nasty voice mails and a text from Angie. Apparently she was mad that she couldn’t get in touch with me, even tho she talked with my husband. When I saw their phone number come up on recents I hurried and called right back. Angie said you need to come get your dog, I’ve been trying to reach you. I said I’m on my way now (1 mile away). Well when I walked in to their store she was beyond mad!!! She said when you leave your dog here we need to be able to get in touch with you!!! Which I completely agree with! That’s why they have my husbands number too. I said to her that I completely agree and I apologized several times and explained I was in a meeting. She was yelling at me at this point!! She said “ if I was robbed or had a fire, which HAS happened” ????? that she HAD to be able to get in touch with me. And again, I totally understand. I again apologized that I didn’t get her call, explained I was in a meeting. I said can I please get Bear, pay for anything I owe and I won’t be back. Nooooo!! Absolutely not!!! She continued to tell that I didn’t understand! I stood back and listened to her yell at me for probably 2 minutes. And finally I raised my voice and said “Go get Bear and I will never be back again. And I’ll make sure to let others know how you treated me’. She again said Noo! (She took off her mask) and said you are going to listen to me. She was livid!!! And what more could do at this point but apologize??! I said ok if you’re not going to give me my dog, I guess I’ll have to call the police??? I walked out and had to call the police to get my dog back. Is that just crazy???! When the police got there and I was telling him what happened, Angie opened the door and was yelling out the door into the parking lot at the police n I. It was real obvious from the get go who the trouble maker was. We went inside to get my dog and would you believe that Angie never stopped talking. And then she got desperate and the lies started flying out of her mouth. (She said my husband refused to come pick up Bear! ?) It was unbelievable to me that a business owner would act like this!! Angie then said I owed her $55 for kennel fees because she could not get ahold me. (Even tho she did get ahold of my husband ?????). At that point I wasn’t going to argue anymore. I paid her the $55 and the groomer brought my dog out. The officer, my dog and I walked out of Pets Unleashed not saying a word. While the whole time Angie was yelling “she’s threatened to slander my business. She won’t listen to me!! Hmmm what I actually said was “i was going to tell others how I was treated (that is not slander). The police was in his vehicle and I’m just getting in mine, and here comes Angie out the door, yelling I want to get her for trespassing. And, the police officer said to me, I guess she doesn’t want your business. Which was fine with me! As I drove off Angie was STILL yelling something out the door at the police officer. And this is how I was treated at Pets Unleashed, December 1st, 2021 It doesn’t matter to me if you love or hate?! I just wanted my family, friends & new comers to Dallas know this is how I was treated. Too many people had warned me about Angie and her temper. And I never believed someone would act like this!! I’ve lived in Dallas all of my life and I’m a huge cheerleader for small businesses. However, I wouldn’t recommend Pets Unleashed to anyone. And she wonders why she can’t keep people working for her?? Hmmmm how sad!
