I stopped here on a Wednesday a couple weeks back. No barbecue on Wednesdays so I ordered the Sausage and Potato Soup. Incredible. Deep flavors. Rich and inviting. The right thing for a rainy day. Today I ordered a Brisket Sandwich with a side of Cole Slaw. The brisket was smoked with a light and left touch. Firm and tender. A wonderful beef flavor. The fresh pickled onions were spiced with a delicious brine. The slices of the green pickles were bright and stood up for themselves . The Slaw is rough chopped and flavored with care. A wonder of a topping for the brisket. The house made sauce does honor to the newer tradition of Central Texas Sauces, peppery, tart with a solid tomato and molasses base. ( I believe) The taste of smoke lingered long after I had finished the sandwich. Reminding me to hurry back for more Bar-B-Cue soon.
I have lost count of how many times I've eaten at J & C BBQ, and it never fails to impress me. The food is exceptional on every level, with high-quality ingredients and generous portions that offer great value. The owners and staff are incredibly kind, and everyone working there contributes to a welcoming atmosphere.
Their barbecue is unrivaled in the valley and has earned numerous awards in national competitions. While everything on the menu is outstanding, the barbecue brisket, ribs, and homemade Texas-style chicken fried steak are particularly noteworthy. In addition to the main dishes, J & C BBQ offers a wide array of unique side dishes not typically found at barbecue joints. Their homemade mashed potatoes and gravy, freshly cut fries, potatoes salad are fantastic. Every sauce and dish is made from scratch, with no shortcuts taken.
The dessert menu is equally impressive, featuring homemade treats that are sure to satisfy. With a full bar and an inviting atmosphere, J & C BBQ is the perfect place for family enjoyment. Call ahead because they sell out often.
