High quality decking with unique features suited to our particular needs, stronger than most. Customer service is excellent in helping plan your deck and answering questions. 84 Lumber is one of their distributors, really convenient for us.

5 Star Review By David Locke

We have a modest camp on the west shore of a long bay on the Maine coast. It's an aggressive environment: full summer sun and high 80s, snow-ice loads in winter and 0 degrees; salty air year-round. Pressure-treated deck got ugly: warp, curl, splinter. And Phllips so-called Prime-Guard screws? After some years so badly corroded, bonded to the PT, half broke rather than unscrew. With deck screws, what good is a “certified lifetime guarantee against rust”—I remove all the screws, send them to Phillips—who’ll send me new screws? Replaced the PT seven years ago with Dura-Life—and could not be more satisfied. • Dura-Life is made with wood fiber, not wood flour (like, for example, Trex), so has more stiffness/resistance to flexing than most other composite deckings. It’s rated 20” OC. I installed on existing 16” OC, and deck feels solid as bedrock. (Unlike Azek, a solid PVC which I used at home—sags showing.) • It’s a two-part product: center core composite, external PVC sheathing. We’re found it easy to clean; scrub with brush, mild dish detergent. Exterior hasn’t faded, not hot to feet, not super-slippery when wet. • Fastening system system isn’t cheap, but it works: stainless screws driven through edge clips. The screws last, the fastening is out of sight, and it’s easy to remove—again, unlike Azek, which uses power-driven nails I had to saw through to replace a section. I’m not an employee or a shil for company. Just a very satisfied customer.
