Get ready to grab your paddles for a day of fun and competition in Searcy, Arkansas, as the Red, White, and Blue Pickleball Tournament kicks off on Saturday, November 9, 2024. Held at Berryhill Park, this exciting event is not just about friendly competition—it’s also a fundraiser for the American Heritage Girls (AHG), Searcy Troop 2159. The tournament starts at 8:00 a.m., offering categories for all experience levels, including 3.0-3.5, 3.5-4.0, and 4.5+ skill brackets. Whether you’re an experienced pickleball player or a beginner, there’s a spot for you to showcase your skills and support a great cause!

The American Heritage Girls troop came up with the idea of the pickleball tournament as a way to engage the community in a fun activity while raising money to support their troop. Funds raised through this tournament will help AHG Troop 2159 cover the costs of badges, camping equipment, and supplies for girls joining the organization. AHG’s mission is to develop leadership and life skills for girls, and this tournament will allow them to participate in a variety of after-school activities.

The tournament is structured by skill level to ensure fair competition. Players can expect to compete in one of three brackets:

3.0-3.5

3.5-4.0

4.5+

Medals will be awarded in each bracket for the top performers. Registration is $40 per person, and space is limited, so be sure to sign up early to secure your spot.

For those looking to add an extra layer of excitement, the tournament offers a Moneyball option. For an additional $25, players can compete in the “Moneyball” bracket, where they’ll have the chance to win cash prizes. These special matches will take place after the main tournament games, and only the top winners will walk away with money prizes!

Fun for Everyone at Berryhill Park!

Even if you’re not playing in the tournament, Berryhill Park has plenty to offer. AHG Troop 2159 will be working the concession stand, serving snacks and refreshments for both players and attendees. The park itself features beautiful walking trails and playground equipment, making it a perfect spot for families to enjoy the day outdoors while cheering on their friends or discovering the sport of pickleball. It’s a great way to spend the day even if you’re new to Searcy!

Local businesses and individuals are encouraged to support the tournament by donating to AHG or volunteering during the event. Contributions will help fill goodie bags for players, and all sponsors will be recognized at the tournament. To donate or sponsor, reach out to the tournament coordinator, Tricia Kauffman at 501-279-6684.

The Red, White, and Blue Pickleball Tournament promises to be a fantastic day for players and the community alike. Whether you’re swinging for gold or just enjoying the atmosphere, it’s an event you won’t want to miss!
