Kate’s journey to launching Canine Social is a heartwarming story of passion and persistence. After spending 18 years in accounting, Kate found herself burnt out by the constant restructuring and unpredictability of the corporate world. But as someone who grew up on her grandparents’ farm, surrounded by animals, her love for pets never faded.

Three years ago, a lightbulb moment struck. Kate and her husband started brainstorming business ideas when she realized: why not create the dog boarding facility she always wished existed? A place where pets are treated like family, not caged up, and where their humans could feel peace of mind dropping them off.

With her CPA husband initially hesitant (being the numbers guy!), Kate crunched the data and showed him how pet care is one of the fastest-growing industries. After seeing the potential, he was in—and together, they made the bold leap.

Kate found the perfect location off Hwy 40 in Troy to build the facility of your fuzzy family members dreams. All though rain pushed back the grand opening. Canine Social of Troy is exactly what Kate hoped it would be .

On May 17, Canine Social of Troy hosted a special open house—and it was a huge success! Families got to tour the space, meet the staff, and experience firsthand the thoughtful design and loving environment Kate and her team have worked so hard to create.

Kate and her team have put the finishing touches on everything and officially open its door on Monday May 19.
