When it comes to senior care, families in Searcy, Arkansas, have a valuable resource in Cornerstone Caregiving. Led by director Kalynn Jackson, Cornerstone provides non-skilled home care services that allow seniors to age comfortably in their own homes. With a focus on flexibility and personalized care, the agency offers an alternative to assisted living and nursing homes, ensuring that seniors receive the support they need without leaving the place they love.

Cornerstone Caregiving’s approach is all about meeting the individual needs of each senior they serve. The agency offers a wide range of services that cover everything from basic daily tasks to more comprehensive care. Kalynn explains, “We pretty much customize a care plan specific to each patient.”

Whether a senior needs help with bathing, dressing, grooming, incontinence care, or medication reminders, Cornerstone’s caregivers are there to assist. They also handle meal prep, laundry, changing bed linens, transportation to appointments, grocery shopping, and even offer companionship—like going to a movie or simply spending time together. The goal is to make sure seniors can live independently at home while still getting the help they need.

Cornerstone allows families to choose how often they need care. Whether it’s for just a few hours a week or around-the-clock support, Cornerstone offers 1 to 24-hour care with caregivers available for short shifts or extended stays. Kalynn emphasizes, “Families can choose the dates and the times that they want a caregiver or CNA.” This flexibility makes it easy for families to get the right level of care for their loved ones without committing to long-term contracts.

Caring for an aging parent or loved one can be a full-time job in itself, especially for family members who are also juggling work and other responsibilities. Kalynn and her team understand that sometimes the best way to support seniors is by supporting their families. That’s why respite care is an essential service Cornerstone provides.

“We’re there to take care of the patient, but a lot of the time the family needs that support,” Kalynn says. She explains how Cornerstone steps in to give families a much-needed break, whether for a few hours or a few days.

Families can rely on Cornerstone to take over caregiving duties when they need time to themselves—whether it’s attending a child’s ball game, handling work obligations, or simply enjoying some downtime. Knowing that a professional caregiver is with their loved one provides peace of mind and the ability to recharge before returning to their caregiving role.

Cornerstone Caregiving is known for its accessible and flexible care options, making it easy for families to get started. There are no contracts, and families aren’t required to commit to a minimum number of hours per week. This flexibility is a huge benefit for those who may only need part-time care or whose schedules vary week to week.

Cornerstone also works with Veterans Affairs (VA) benefits and long-term care insurance to help cover the cost of services, though it does not currently accept Medicaid. Kalynn explains that their goal is to make it as simple as possible for families to access the care they need: “We staff within 24 hours of our first visit to the home.”

The process starts with an in-home assessment, where Kalynn herself gathers the senior’s medical history, emergency contacts, and other important information to create a care plan tailored specifically to the individual’s needs. This personalized approach ensures that each senior receives the exact level of care required for their situation.

Since opening, Cornerstone Caregiving has seen tremendous growth. The agency currently serves seniors across White County and beyond, covering a 50-mile radius that includes surrounding counties like Cleburne, Faulkner, Prairie, and Woodruff. As the need for home-based care grows, so does Cornerstone’s staff of caregivers, which now includes close to 100 employees.

Despite this growth, there is always a demand for more caregivers. “We can never have enough caregivers,” Kalynn says, noting that there are always open positions for those interested in part-time, full-time, or weekend jobs. Cornerstone also has on-call managers available 24/7, so families can rest assured that they can always get assistance when needed.

For Kalynn and her team, the goal is simple: to help seniors remain in their homes and live life on their own terms for as long as possible. “Our goal with Cornerstone is to be able to provide all the assistance that one needs to be able to age in place in their own home.”

Families looking to start services with Cornerstone can do so easily, without needing a doctor’s order. All it takes is a phone call to their Searcy office, located at 806 South Main Street, and Kalynn will personally come out to do an in-home assessment. After the assessment, the team can begin staffing within 24 hours, and families can customize the schedule to suit their needs.

For more information or to schedule a consultation, families can contact Kalynn and her team directly at 501-305-0283.
