SEARCY, Ark. — El Puente Hispanic Services Center is marking its fifth anniversary with a celebration on Sept. 17 at 6 p.m. The event, held at 3353 Highway 36 W, Living Way Church of Christ, will feature a silent auction, dinner, and dessert buffet.
“We want to raise funds, but also show the community how far we’ve come,” said Ruth Simpson, director of El Puente. “Most people in Searcy know about us and our mission, but we want to highlight what services we provide now.”
Tickets are $35, and sponsorship opportunities start at $500. Sponsors will be publicly recognized, with business sponsors receiving special seating. “Of course, if they sponsor a table, we’ll recognize them publicly and provide preferred seating,” Simpson said.
A variety of auction items have been donated by local businesses, including gift baskets, restaurant certificates, and unique contributions like a piñata from a local artisan. “We’ve had donations from local shops, pet stores, and even a doctor,” Simpson added.
