Amazing burgers and fries, both made with quality beef and potatoes. I usually get my burgers without a bun and in the case of Willy's they put in an effort to make it easy to eat, they put my order in box instead of a wrapper and provided a fork and knife. There's also enough meat and toppings to make it a sufficient meal even without the bun, as sometimes at other restaurants it looks like they toss it onto the plate, so major kudos to Willy's! I'd also like to point out that the tomatoes are real-deal steak tomatoes and the lettuce isn't cheap iceberg, I was pleasantly surprised. Even though we got small orders of fries they hardly seemed so with them overflowing their trays and all. They're freshly made in a light vegetable oil and lightly salted, they're a little on the softer side than crunchy, but I liked the texture along with the real potato taste and appreciated how they weren't greasy. Also worth mentioning that there's a separate gluten free menu available though I didn't see it until we were leaving as it was off to the side and not mentioned on the chalkboard menu. That's the only suggestion I have, is that they mention that the menu is available. I only got a brief glance at it, but noticed that there's gluten free buns. Cute little joint with a fun atmosphere and friendly staff.

Wild Willy's is a great spot to grab a burger in York, Maine. With a variety of burgers made from locally sourced meats and fresh cut fries from Maine potato's Wild Willy's shows an attention to detail and a focus on doing a couple of things very well rather than trying to do a bunch of things just okay. I went with the "Smokehouse Burger" which had cheese, bacon, mushrooms and a homemade smokehouse sauce. The burger was great but with the attention to detail I was slightly disappointed to see the mushrooms appeared to be canned mushrooms (which were also cold on the burger.) The fries themselves were delicious, fresh cut local Maine potato's fried once in trans fat free vegetable oil. Wild Willy's points out that the intentionally do not sure coated or breaded fries to keep them crispy but instead choose to let the fries shine on their own. Personally, I'd like the fries to be blanched to get a little more crisp but that's a personal choice and I cannot fault them for focusing on keeping it simple. Staff was friendly and service was quick (its a Monday before the summer season) and relatively inexpensive lunch with a burger, fries and drink coming in under $17.
