Coronavirus Update
While we believe as a company that the recent coverage about the coronavirus outbreak has caused some unnecessary panic in the community, we also understand the severe implications that Covid-19 could have on our community, especially members of our community that are more susceptible to the effects of the virus. Our team has decided to be proactive about the situation and have created several procedures to not only protect the wellbeing of
our employees but also protect our clients and future clients as well.
▪ Sick Leave for Employees
All Wachter Landscaping employees that are showing signs or symptoms of Covid-19, or that may have been exposed to the virus are encouraged to stay at home or will be sent home immediately. This will be non-punitive leave policy; no employee will be disciplined for needing to stay home because they are ill or if a family member is ill and needs care.
We will also not require a doctor’s note for an extended leave due to these circumstances. All employees will be informed of how to conduct a risk assessment and where they can go to get tested.
▪ While at Work
Alcohol-based hand sanitizers and similar hand scrubs will be placed strategically within our office, shop, trucks, and job sites to make sure that employees have access to it at all times. We encourage all team members to regularly use these items to clean their hands multiple times throughout the day. We will also place posters in the same places that encourage staying home while sick, cough and sneeze etiquette, and hand hygiene. We will also provide our team
with disinfectant wipes and sprays to routinely clean trucks, equipment, tools, job sites, etc.
▪ Clients and Quotes
All of our clients are very important to us and we want to make sure that they feel comfortable with us working on their property. We can assure you that we will take extreme precaution to our surroundings and make sure to disinfect our job sites regularly at the end of each working day at no additional charge. This will include any surfaces that have been regularly touched by employees. This includes gates, doors, trash bins, outdoor furniture, etc.
Our quoting process will mostly remain the same. The only thing we are adding is that we will ask you during our scheduled phone call that if during our on-site consult you would like to be involved walking through the property with us or would you prefer to speak on the phone as we walk the property alone. Our estimator, also the owner, will follow the same procedures as
all employees about staying at home if signs or symptoms have been shown. Estimators will also have disinfectant on hand to spray any surfaces that are touched during the consultation process.
We would love nothing more than to work from home, but as of today the technology for remote-controlled landscaping robots is not quite there yet. We are still conducting business on a regular basis with no delays to be concerned about. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to contact us at any time.
Thank you all so much for the continued support and business. We truly appreciate every one of our clients.
