If you need something done, call Stu! So Stu is my neighbor of nearly 10 years and this is the first time I've used him for a job. I make a point not to do business with family, friends, generally people I see on a regular basis, because if something were to go wrong, well then you're stuck seeing that person on a regular basis. However, this was an EMERGENCY! Our hot water heater went out on Sunday morning. We called around, talked to some friends who were plumbers and decided we could wait until Monday to get it fixed. I called Lowe's on Monday since their website says they can install on the same day. It was later Monday afternoon, so I assumed, "ok, someone will be out Tuesday morning and we'll have hot water by the afternoon." No such luck. The plumbing company that Lowe's contracted with for this job said they could be out on Wednesday morning about 10:30 am to take a look. (That's 4 days without hot water!) About this time I see Stu outside, hang up with the plumbing company, and begin to ask him for his opinion. I'm thinking he'll know someone who can help me out. Stu takes a look at it and says, "I can do it." In about 3 hours I have a new water heater! From now on, anytime we have work done around our house I will go to him first!!! He was quick and efficient and his cost was right in line with what Lowe's would have charged us.
