Some people here are terrible to the staff, and it seems that has a major role to play in your experience here. For myself, I checked myself in on a Sunday night and they made me feel welcome from the moment I showed up. If I wanted good food and amazing bedding I would go to the Holiday Inn. I needed mental help and this place and the staff really seemed to care about treating me and my issues. I hope I don't have to go back, but, I've had a lot worse 5 days in my life than the time I spent here. Only suggestion I would offer besides food and bedding obviously would be to have more going on for the patients. The days are rather empty besides group. Luckily I brought quite a few books to read, but if I hadn't I would have been bored out of my mind. The puzzles are of course missing pieces, and folks will hoard the crayons. Overall, the staff was helpful, my treatment team and nurses took care of my needs, and I learned a lot from talking with other patients. Daniel in particular is going to get a shout out. He was incredible and always made me feel great about myself.
