What a beautiful example of what a community park should be. I visited on a Tuesday evening after work - there was a soccer game getting ready to start. Kids playing on the playground, and upcoming community hosted events posted on the bulletin board. The park was hopping. Only thing missing was a couple of seniors playing checkers....this neighborhood should be proud.
I knew Jesse & like everyone who knew him, was absolutely devastated at his passing. He was a terrific young man & undoubtedly had a bright future ahead of him. His dad is an amazing person & was a great coach. I'm glad that at least Jesse's name is being honored. I met Jesse through my niece, Brittany Dukes, whom we lost last yr. It's beyond tragic to lose such great people so young and has completely changed who I am. The grief is unbearable. I'm glad that kids get to laugh & play here and at least know Jesse's name. It's nowhere near as nice as if they could all know him for he truly was an exceptional child, an exceptional human being. As was my niece. This has inspired me & I know exactly how she should be honored. RIP Jesse Higginbotham (& Brittany Dukes). You'll never be forgotten & are forever loved.
