Do Not Know What They Are Doing

The drain in our basement floor was backing up a little when the washing machine was on. When Jayme arrived and the situation was explained he did not know what to do. He started by trying to get the auger in through the lanudry room sink pipe. He got about 3 feet in and told me he hit something that he could not get through. He then tried and failed to get the auger in through the floor drain. He then tried again to go through the sink pipe and then realized he was going into the washer drain not the main drain. This is when he started to tell me he thought we would need a new under ground pipe and that would fix all of our problems. I told him that he had not even snaked the drain yet, he told me the only way he could was to cut into the pipe in the wall, which would cost us extra. He finally snaked the drain and told us that it was all fixed but we should still consider replacing the pipe and he emailed me a quote the next day for over 2 grand to get this done. When using the washer later that night there was still the same problem. When calling to complain i was told by the person answering the phone that there was nothing she could do for us and a manager would call us back within 3 business days. After complaining louder a manager called back in a couple of hours, they offered to send someone back to re snake the drain and bring a camera at no charge. He arrived 30 min late and then told me if we wanted him to use the camera he would have to charge us another $300. When I refused he said he would snake the drain but again tried telling me the only way to fix the issue was new pipes, this time the price would be more because he thought we would need a longer section. After snaking 10 ft he said hit something and wasnt sure he could get through it. He tried for a few min and finally got through it and looks like he fixed the issue. When he was leaving he asked me if I wanted to book the job for the new pipe, when telling him know he just left. It appears they are not interesting in fixing the problem but trying to upsell you something you dont need!
