Never assume your hearing cannot be improved

My father went for years with only one hearing aid in his left ear. He firmly believed that he had lost all hearing in his right ear and by the time he moved to Chapel Hill the hearing aid in his left ear needed to be replaced as well. Anita Carroll gave Dad a comprehensive hearing test and found he could benefit from new hearing aids in both ears. At first, with the right hearing aid Dad heard sound but it seemed like random noise to him. Over time he has been able to distinguish sounds and spoken words with his right ear as well as his left. Dr. Carroll worked closely with Dad to get him a fit that was very comfortable as well addressing his hearing difficulties. The improvement in his quality of life has been wonderful. We are very grateful to Dr. Carroll for her skill and guidance that led to this result.

    Careful, thorough diagnostics and hearing aid fitting

    Anita takes time to evaluate thoroughly her clients’ hearing losses, and then fits and sets up the appropriate hearing aids. Her follow up appointments address issues as they come up, rather than simply turning users loose to figure out how to work their hearing aids. My aids are incredible. I hear so much better, and love the natural tonality of what I hear. I am grateful for Anita’s experience and skill.

    My New Hearing Aids Are Fabulous

    I first got hearing aids 3 years ago. While they were very helpful, my hearing continued to decline and I needed to replace them with a new model and prescription a few weeks ago. The improvement in my quality of life has been astounding! Not only is my hearing really really good now, I am feeling more energized, clear headed, and engaged in life. Conversations are much easier and more delightful and, being able to hear all the sounds of daily life (from movies to bird songs), I just feel more awake. I am so grateful for the highly professional help provided by Anita Carroll!

    They have changed my life.

    I had been to see two audiologists before seeing Anita Carroll. Both told me that even though I was experiencing some hearing loss in the higher ranges, hearing aids wouldn't do much for me. The difference at Hearing Solutions is that I was encouraged to bring my wife in with me, so she could talk about her experience with my hearing loss. Anita thought hearing aids could help, and she was right: they have changed my experience of being in the world. It's as if they've opened up new spaces in my brain I didn't know were there. I can hear and think more clearly. I have more energy, because it's hard to work at hearing, and now I don't have to work as hard. None of this was I aware of or prepared for. It's the best thing I've done for myself (and my wife) in a long, long time.

    Transformative!

    Dr Carroll thoroughly tested/evaluated my hearing loss and fitted me with Phonak hearing aids. These aids were programmed specifically for my sound spectrum loss. I now can participate in conversations in noisy restaurants as well as hearing chirping birds in the woods! Never realized what I had been missing. What is it worth to be able to clearly hear again?

    Bluetooth hearing aids are fantastic

    I am so glad I followed Anita's advice and got the newer technology hearing aids with the bluetooth feature. I was having trouble hearing on the phone and the bluetooth technology resulted in a big improvement. I also love being able to cook while talking on the phone since my hands are free.
