Our experience with Empire exceeded our expectations in every way! I feared dealing with a large national chain was a mistake, but Empire has what they do down to a science. Being new to the area, I looked online for carpet retailers near us. I saw Empire (immediately thought of their jingle, of course), and decided to give them a try. I booked an appointment online for the next morning. The sales rep was on time and had brought several samples of the type carpeting I'd indicated I was interested in. He was very personable and easy to talk to. He worked out the square footage we would need & gave us a quote for the carpet I'd selected. When my husband told him the figure was too high, he called his regional manager and was able to give us a significant discount. Was the call really needed, or was it part of the scripted back & forth sales people do? I don't know or care. What I do care about is that he gave us a price for the carpet, a premium pad and installation that was only $250 more than the price we told him we "had in mind." Having just finished building our house (after losing ours in a CA wildfire 4 years ago), this was the first "bid" we'd received for ANY service that was even in the ballpark of what we expected to pay. My husband is a professional builder and has bid every aspect of 100's of homes, but inflation has made the price for everything completely unpredictable. We were pleasantly surprised at how reasonable Empire was. We were scheduled for installation a mere 3 days later. We received a text reminding us of the appointment, a text telling us when the crew was 20 minutes away, and a text while they were working checking in to see if we had encountered any problems. They were very fast! It only took them 5 hours from the time they pulled up to the time they were ready to leave. They carpeted our entire 2nd floor, and even dusted the fixtures and vacuumed the floor when the job was complete. Everyone we worked with from Empire was very nice. They all did a great job. We couldn't be happier!
