If you want classic Americanized Mexican food, then you will probably enjoy this place. I wouldn’t call it authentic Mexican food, however, all our food came out hot, service was good, and my Tamarindo margarita was great! 🍹 Chips and salsa were perfect before our meal! 4 out of 5 ⭐️s only because the beans and rice didn’t have much flavor.

5 Star Review By Thomas Maretzki

I punched in “Restaurant” and this was one of the five that popped up near me, and I was in the mood for Mexican, because when you’re this close to the border you gotta eat Mexican, it’s just a rule. Follow the rules. Being from San Antonio, I know a good tortilla, and these ones were not what I was expecting, but to be fair, were probably the best version of their tortilla type. It was carefully double wrapped in paper and was hot, just like everything else. Say what you will about authenticity, but for an all-around excellent meal in a very irie atmosphere. It’s Cal-Mex in Arizona… Zona-Mex? Either way, it’s a solid 5-star dining experience. I ordered the Machaca plate with flour tortillas (I recommend trying their corn, I bet it’ll be delicious). The Machaca was flavorful on the spicy side, but not overbearing. Really tasty. The beans seemed homemade and fresh and nicely topped with some cheese. The veggies were fresh and delicious, the rice fluffy and good with the beans. The one basket of complementary chips with salsa were also very good with the salsa giving you some idea of medium heat. Also fresh and delicious.
