A few years ago, Tim had no idea about the local hunger issue. As most of us may think, Gwinnett, or our own county, is a prosperous county. When he began to look into it, it was like a curtain was raised. Hunger wasn’t just an abstract problem on another continent, but a real crisis that affects our friends and neighbors in Gwinnett. Once he knew about the ubiquity of food insecurity, He had to do something. It’s who he is, and it’s what he wants to do. With the help of like-minded individuals, and with onsite training from veterans in the field, he started my own program of food rescue and distribution. Satisfied was born out of his wish to serve the community that is my home. Fueled by the joy of receiving a meal, and by the human connections we build along the way, he works to nourish Gwinnett. In Gwinnett County, a staggering 20% of children struggle to secure their next meal. Food insecurity endangers many families, from a variety of cultural, economic, and social backgrounds. Satisfied delivers hunger relief for Gwinnett’s families in need.
