On Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 9:00 AM the Salem area community will come together at Riverfront Park to walk in support of those living with Alzheimer’s disease and their families. This annual event is a great way for the local community to unite and raise awareness and funds for this devastating disease.
Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® is the world’s largest fundraiser for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. This inspiring event calls on participants of all ages and abilities to join the fight against the disease.
While there is no fee to register for Walk, all participants are encouraged to raise critical funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association to provide 24/7 care and support and advance research toward methods of prevention, treatment and, ultimately, a cure.
Ways to help:
- Start a team – Sign up as a Team Captain and form a team. You can also join an existing team or register as an individual.
- Recruit – Ask friends, family and co-workers to join your team or start their own.
- Raise awareness and funds – Easy to use fundraising tools make it simple to spread the word and collect donations. Raise $100 or more to receive the official Walk to End Alzheimer’s T-shirt.
- Walk with others from your local community – Come together with your community to rally around the Alzheimer’s cause. The Walk organizers will continue to closely monitor CDC, state and local guidelines to ensure Walk events adhere to the latest recommendations.
