Joey’s Carpet Care is located in Nicholasville, KY, and they service Central Kentucky’s carpet cleaning and water restoration needs. They focus on carpet cleaning, as it is in their name. However they also clean all kinds of surfaces and furnishings to ensure the best look, cleanliness, and they extend the lifespan of your surfaces and furnishings. Joey’s does air duct and dryer vent cleaning. Finally Joey’s works with individuals and insurance companies for restoration from water emergencies that may occur.
This is where my story comes in to play. We were already clients of Joey’s Carpet Care. When we purchased our “new to us” home in July of 2024, we had Joey’s come out to give our carpets a deep cleaning before we moved our furniture in. They did an excellent job, and we already knew we felt comfortable to refer them to our friends and family. This was just one part of preparing this house to be our forever home. We knew there would be many things that needed to be fixed with the home, but we were not prepared for the long list of projects that had to be done immediately. This house was starting to feel like a money pit.
Then after our first Christmas in the home, we experienced a leak in our basement. At first it looked like some swelling in our basement flooring. When a handyman checked it out, he found there was flooding coming in from the outside in our basement. We put out the call to Joey’s Carpet Care and our plumber immediately. The owner of Joey’s Carpet Care (Ben) rushed over to our house first. I was not able to get off work, so my wife met him at the house. Ben worked with our handyman to discover that there was water rushing in behind the dry wall in our house. After some demolition, they figured out the water was coming in from where the main pipe brings in water to the house. Even after shutting off the water, there was a healthy stream of water coming in. Ben worked up a fix to distribute the leak to a bucket. After filling the bucket halfway, the drip finally stopped.
Ben brought in a dehumidifier and an air cleaner to start working on the remediation process. Then he worked with the plumber to discover the problem where there was a break at the outside wall of our basement for the water main. The sheer amount of work we have already done on the house, Christmas spending, and not knowing where we would go to live until water could be turned back on became too much for my wife at that point. Ben calmly walked her through the plans of what would be done, and he graciously coordinated for us to stay in a local Air BnB that could accommodate our dog.
Ben coordinated everything from our handyman’s demolition, to the plumber fixing the water main break, to ensuring with our insurance agent that we would have most of the work (and our Air BnB stay) covered by our insurance policy. He did all of this while serving as a counselor for my wife and I for all of our worries about the process. Not only did Ben go above and beyond, but he did it like it was just a normal way of doing business.
That’s the thing with Joey’s Carpet Care. Yes, we were dealing with the owner of the business. Everyone else we encountered from this company during the process treated us with the same level of professionalism and care. This company could make a great profit if they were just in it for the buck. Instead, I fully believe that Joey’s Carpet Care is in business to help people. They genuinely care about their customers. You never feel like just another number or obstacle for someone to move past to be done working for the day. Instead you feel like an expert is putting an arm around you saying, “Everything is going to be ok.” When Ben told that to us, it felt great. Then we found out that everything was more than ok. Joey’s Carpet Care ensured that we were taken care of until everything was great. I couldn’t recommend them enough.
