Wildwood is a charming diner. The ceiling is decorated with egg beaters and potato mashers! The walls are decorated with fun memorabilia. I normally have one of their great breakfast options but I decided to have lunch! I enjoyed a French dip with tender thinly sliced beef, grilled onions and mushrooms! It was delicious! My coffee was also good and it was filled every time it was a bit low! This is a great place to start a wine country tour.
This was our first time here. The place is very popular and the door traffic speaks to it. The tables were full, there was a wait outside but it goes pretty quick and the to-go orders were flying out the door. The tricky thing about food reviews is they are about the restaurant but also really about who’s in the kitchen and today the kitchen was putting out some great food. The wait staff were also very skilled and doing a great job. The only thing I wish was a bit different was the potatoes or spuds as they call them. They seem to only come one way and that is deep fried thick cut scallop style and for many I’m sure that’s fine, and I bet it helps the turn around time on orders but I’d like another choice, next time I’ll sub out. The breakfast was top notch with fresh vegetables in my omelet and my drink never hit empty because the staff are attentive.
I am looking forward to trying the breakfast gravy and meats on my next trip. Be sure to try the house special crusted French toast.
