5 Star Review By Be Informed
I loved staying here on road trip back to Washington from Texas in June, 2021. Is it in perfect condition, no. Is it up-to-date, no. Was everything closed, yes. But here's why I still loved it -- it reminded me of the hotels I stayed at on road trips when I was a kid. When was the last time you stayed at a hotel with a balcony?!? (wish it had chairs -- we stood and drank coffee while we watched the birds swooping around in the morning). And the view of the hills in the distance over the grounds -- beautiful! The hotel was very quiet (probably very few guests) when we stayed, and my husband and I enjoyed exploring the building and the grounds. Our room was comfortable and clean -- the furniture was dated but wasn't worn. All the staff we encountered were friendly. This place has SO MUCH potential to be more than it currently is with the interest in the mid-century/retro life. The surrounding businesses and highway proximity may be out of the owners' control -- but I hope the vintage style is allowed to shine because from the pool side, you can forget everything else and focus on the view and the grounds (was there at one point an amphitheater?). It could be an amazing weekend getaway spot.
