Great place to get information on the area. Amy was our resource person the day we visited. She was a wealth of information. The office is packed with brochures on things to do in the area. Easy parking, but the parking lot is a bit small. Construction on 10th street might make it a bit confusing on where to enter. If you are a train buff be sure to visit this old train depot.
Was a wonderful experience. The staff member who helped us was awesome. She gave us each a lanyard which resulted in our visiting Grammy Rose's Kangaroo Petting Zoo. Definitely worth the trip out there. She also pointed us in the direction of what used to be the Demaris Ranch (Gail & Dorothy) where I lived & then visited during my childhood & adulthood. Is now the Wine Down Ranch & so good to see it's present purpose. Drove onto the property & it brought back so many wonderful memories as some areas still recognizable from before. Then also found the site of my Aunt's corner store, from waaaaay back (I think it was Collins Grocery but not sure..spent summers there & the ranch). Is now a very nice looking house. Prineville has grown so much, changed but yet still retains what I loved about my hometown. 78 years ago there were barely 3,000 people & now over 12,000. So good to see it's thriving. Everyone we encountered in our visit was gracious, friendly & helpful. Here's to at least 78 more with the continued feeling of welcome. Proud to be from Prineville.
