Amazing coffee and ice cream shop! I have had iced coffee and it was delicious! The coconut pineapple ice cream was absolutely amazing. It was creamy and refreshing, and tasted like a Pina colada. My family tried the mint chocolate chip, chocolate malt, and cookies and cream and everyone was happy with their selection. The serving size was just right and the selection variety was just right.
Service was excellent. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
Atmosphere is fun and kid friendly. Shop is tucked back in the shopping center, just to the left the popular North valley Escape Room. Conveniently located just off I17 just south of the Walmart. This place is a hidden gem, make sure to check it out!
You know me; always on the hunt for new or new to me coffee spots. I prefer local over chain for my latte and cold brews. Today I stumbled on Gold Rush. Ironically it’s only been open about a month from what I can tell. First impression unfortunately was it was very hard to see the actual storefront a there’s no real signage in front or near the street to catch your eye. I obviously knew hat I a looking for with the address, but for a passer by this would definitely be a miss. The parking lot is fairly small and shared with other businesses. I’d definitely recommend some signs or flags of some sort to draw in the local traffic.
Once inside the location is small. There is a small seating area, but it a full today. No biggie as I needed to get back to my side of town soon. I was greeted fairly soon by the lone worker who seemed a bit overwhelmed with door dash orders and the walk in traffic. He did his best to be quick and let me know there was one order in front of me. This gave me time to look over the menu. It very simple, not very large and does not include cold brew as an option or a huge fancy latte choice. They offer energy drinks, some tea and milk shake etc. no pod besides a few Pastries . If you are a lover of Thrifty ice cream they have many great options for scoops, specialty milkshakes and such. I wish I couldn’t tried some today, but I thought I’d be pushing it since I ordered two drinks. This is something I like to do when I go somewhere new to get feel for the drinks. Today I went for a basic vanilla latte iced and a caramel macchiato. Prices were good. The employee was too busy to really chat and I didn’t get a chance to ask what beans they used nor did I se any. I thought I saw somewhere they import them, but again I don’t know from where. My drinks were mad pretty quick. The vanilla latte taste great and I enjoyed it. The caramel macchiato I was on the fence for a couple reasons. One of those being presentation. It did not look anything like macchiato, lacked caramel from what I could tell and what I could see was more outside the cup than in. The flavor was still pretty good and I could taste the coffee pretty well. I think I’ll give it some more time before coming to order coffee again. Id say the ice cream is definitely the popular items. I love that they are giving the scooping ice cream vibe for families to enjoy. It’s one of my favorite memories a a kid going into the actual Thrifty Store (yes it existed like a Walgreens) and getting scoops after school with my dad when he could get off a little early. I’d say it’s a solid 3/4 stars now while it gets the kinks out. Definite potential. Support local and help the place get on the map.
