Please don't mind my redundant pictures of Chicken Fried Steak and Pork Chops in this review. Just wanted to show how much we liked these two dishes and the frequency we ordered them.
Loved how pork chops were brined, so juicy and tender. Chicken fried steak had two sizes, dinner portion were huge!
Unfortunately our favorite Allen location was permanently closed. We tried McKinney location once and it was disappointing. Food was of similar standard but service horrible. They're obviously shorthanded, most unoccupied table left uncleaned when we were seated. Worst yet the floor appeared to be dirty and sticky to walk on. One star deducted.
We'll wait to try this location one more time before not returning. Keep our fingers crossed.
My expectations were low after reading the reviews about slow service and food. We decided to visit after receiving a bogo coupon and hearing about the new management.
We visited on a late Sunday night. It started out rough - there was no hostess and it took awhile to get someone’s attention to seat us. Seemed like there was only one woman/waitress manning the entire front of the house.
Once we sat down, things went uphill. The waitress was attentive and quick to take our orders. The food came out fast and fresh. There were complimentary warm rolls served with butter. The fried green tomatoes were perfect. The burgers were a little salty for my taste, but still good. Overall a nice experience and we look forward to coming back and trying new items.
